The key difference being Sephora brands tend to be a bit pricier, which is why new customers might be wary about shopping there. But now with Sephora being in select Kohl’s locations set to open Aug. 2021, they don’t have to be.
Customers can now check out Sephora products in their local Kohl’s stores. The first Sephora in a Kohl’s location is set to open in August 2021.

Sephora is the largest prestige beauty retailer in the world which is why these two retailers partnered up.
The Sephora section of Kohl’s stores will be a 2,500 square feet beauty paradise, featuring luxury brands and skilled staff ready to assist with any questions.
The first four Kohl’s stores to open Sephora shops were: Sterling Heights, Michigan; Ramsey, New Jersey; Brookfield, Wisconsin; and Woodbury, Minnesota.
Is Sephora leaving JCPenney?
Yes, Sephora is leaving JCPenney. They decided to part ways with JCPenney to pursue a “store-within-a-store” concept they have going with their Sephora at Kohl’s partnership.
As JCPenney was fighting bankruptcy it wasn’t feasible to continue this partnership. Sephora was happy to move its way into Kohl’s stores to fill the space.
Sephora’s contract with JCPenney is set to end in 2023, which is why they entered into the Kohl’s partnership.
JCPenney is now going to focus on filling the empty Sephora space with indie brands and inclusive beauty. With an emphasis on Black-Owned Brands as well.

Pay starts at $17.00/an hour up to $24.55 according to their Kohl’s Career page.
This all varies depending on whether you are looking for a part-time or full-time position and what type of position you apply for (Beauty Advisor, Beauty Team Lead, or Beauty Lead Advisor).
If you have previous experience working at Ulta or Sally’s Beauty, then working in a Sephora at Kohl’s locations is a perfect idea for you.
